Boosting Text Entry by 50% on a Virtual Keyboard

Fleksy, has made a major breakthrough in text typing for augmented reality, mixed reality, and virtual reality environments. Our company’s patent-pending Swipe Input technology has been brought to the VR, AR and MR space to solve the issue of slow and inefficient text entry in these immersive environments.

While text entry is relatively easy while sitting down in Virtual Reality with the use of hardware keyboards, it is not the case when standing up in VR, on the move using augmented reality, or collaborating via mixed reality devices.

Fleksy CEO, Olivier Plante, believes this is where Swipe Input can revolutionize XR, stating: “Fleksy’s core autocorrection, word predictions, and swipe input have been combined to provide a comprehensive, fast, and yet familiar input method for all players in the industry. With Fleksy’s swipe input available inside our Core SDK, companies in the space will be able to improve text entry speeds by 50%.”

Fleksy’s algorithms can understand even the sloppiest of typing behaviours, providing precise swipe input in any keyboard size or angle powered by Fleksy. The technology is available for headset companies or XR apps to integrate, offering users a seamless and intuitive solution for typing faster and more accurately than ever before.

Fleksy is currently working with three major XR players under NDA, though it has not confirmed a release date for the industry. “We believe that this technology will transform the way people interact with virtual, mixed, and augmented realities, and we are excited to be at the forefront of this revolution,” says Plante.
